A faucet is one of the necessities in our lives that we really do not give a lot of thought to on a regular basis. The faucet works; we are happy. What more is there too think about, right? There are so many things we use a faucet for, that we may not even realize the importance of having a handy faucet. We do realize the importance of having a functional faucet. Having the right faucet attachment can make all the difference in the world.

1. If you live in an older home or apartment, you may or may not have a dishwasher. However, the importance of a dishwasher is not measurable. A dishwasher is the epitome of the modern age: convenience, style, and class. Yet, sometimes there just isn't the cabinet space for to install a built in dishwasher. This calls for a portable dishwasher. A portable dishwasher is an excellent way to get that convenience and functionality without having to lose counter space.
2. Now, let's talk about water. Yes, we turn the lever on our faucet and out comes water from the nozzle. It is a miracle! Actually, indoor plumbing is a modern miracle, but that is not the current point. We want water; water is at our beckon call. However, I bet that at sometime in your life, you turned that faucet only to discover a liquid that doesn't even resemble water squirting out of that faucet. You go ewww and gross, but that water doesn't really listen to you, it just continues its haphazard journey into your sink. You decide that you need a filter.

If you have ever had either of the above - or both - happen to you, then it is a pretty good guess you have needed a faucet attachment at sometime in your life. These beauties are usually tiny and are worth their weight in gold. Of course, they should be worth their weight in gold because often, they cost a small fortune.

Faucet attachments can be fond at almost all hardware stores and home décor specialty stores. On occasion, a rare fitting may be needed and then you may have to special order the faucet attachment. When you go shopping for a faucet attachment, I suggest you remove the current aerator that is on your faucet. That way, you know how to answer all of the sales persons questions: just had him your aerator. Oh yes, they do like it if you remove all icky things from the aerator before you bring it into the store.

When you get ready to install your faucet attachment, it is generally a good idea to have a few things handy: a wrench, the faucet attachment, the installation manual (if needed), and plumbers tape. Having these things will insure that you have a smooth installation experience. In addition, without them, you will not be able to do a sufficient job. One important thing I would like to mention is that many times your faucet will need special handling. Never do anything harsh with a wrench and a faucet. Take your time, be patient, and enjoy your faucet.
